The State of Illinois passed a number of Public Acts in 2019 that became effective January 1, 2020.  The following is a list of laws that may impact certain Civil, Criminal, Traffic, and Juvenile court filings and procedures:

• Public Act 101-0475 Service Address for Home-Based Businesses (805 ILCS 405/1a new)
• Public Act 101-0146 Amends the Juvenile Court Act Regarding Summons (705 ILCS 405/2-15) (from Ch. 37, par. 802-15) Sec. 2-15. Summons
• Public Act 101-0539 Amends process for Notice of Foreclosue if served by Notification (735 ILCS 5/2-206) (from Ch. 110, par. 2-206)
• Public Act 101-0203 Publication no longer required for person who wishes to change his/her name after a divorce (735 ILCS 5/21-103) (from Ch. 110, par. 21-103) & (705 ILCS 5/413)
• Public Act 101-0168  Regarding revival of judgment and Limitation of Enforcement (735 ILCS 5/2-1303) (from Ch. 110, par. 2-1303),  (735 ILCS 5/2-1602), &  (735 ILCS 5/12-108) (from Ch. 110, par. 12-108)
• Public Act 101-0211 Allows for address to be omitted from submitted documents if disclosure would risk abuse of party or family member (750 ILCS 36/209)
• Public Act 101-0255 Orders of Protection will not be made publicly available until the respondent has been served (740 ILCS 20/21), (740 ILCS 21/95), (740 ILCS 22/202), (740 ILCS 22/213), (750 ILCS 60/202 (from Ch. 40, par. 2312-2)), & (750 ILCS 60/217 (from Ch. 40, par. 2312-17))
• Public Act 101-0508 Certified Copy of protective orders to be filed with Law Enforcement immediately by the court if granted on holiday or evening (740 ILCS 21/40 (Stalking No Contact)), (740 ILCS 22/208 (Civil No Contact)), & (750 ILCS 6/210 (from Ch. 40, par. 2312-10)(Emergency Orders))
• Public Act 101-0556 Creates the Civil Remedies for the Nonconsenusal Dissemination of Private Sexual Images Act
• Public Act 101-0385 Creates the Removal of Compromising Images Act
• Public Act 101-0403 Amends Civil Procedure in that every count in every complaint must request specific remedies (735 ILCS 5/2-604.2 new)

• Public Act 101-0408 Amends the application of Jail Time Credit in the CTAA and raises it to $30/day (705 ILCS 135.5-20) & (725 ILCS 5/110-14)(from Ch.38, par. 110-14)
• Public Act 101-0529 For childrent it its care, DCFS may request State's Attorney Office to file a petition or motion to terminate parental rights of parent that has been criminally convicted of sexual crimes against children (705 ILCS 405/2-13)(from Ch. 37, par. 802-13)
• Public Act 101-0297 Clarifies that people can not watch or stream videos while operating a motor vehicle  (625 ILCS 5/12-610.2)
• Public Act 101-0189 No Tinted Lens Covers on Headlights (625 ILCS 5/12-212) (from Ch.95 1/2, par.12-212)
• Public Act 101-0513 Adds "Non-Binary" as option for designation of sex for DL or ID cards (15 ILCS 335/5) (from Ch. 124, par. 25)
