e-Filing an Order of Protection

  • You must have completed your Petition for Order of Protection online through the OOP system. If you have not, please visit the Illinois Protection/Protective Order website to complete your paperwork.
  • The petition must be signed.
  • Once the initial Petition is filed with the court and you  have received a case number, any subsequent filings must be submitted in eFiling. 
  • You must register with an Electronic Filing Service Provider (EFSP). 
  • A list of state approved EFSPs can be found on the Illinois Courts website
  • Self-represented litigants needing help with e-filing Orders of Protection may visit the advocates in room D-100, located on the 5th Floor of the Lake County Criminal Court Tower at 301 Washington Street in Waukegan. Additional Assistance is also available through other agencies.
