Orders of Protection

Orders of Protection are a civil court order that protects victims of domestic abuse and other incidents. Self-represented litigants needing help with e-filing Orders of Protection may visit the advocates in room D-100, located on the 2nd Floor of the Lake County Courthouse, or contact any of the Order of Protection Resources available.

The Order of Protection paperwork can be completed electronically through the Online Order of Protection (OOP) System at the Illinois Protection/Protective Order System website. If help is needed with filling out the forms online, the OOP system lists several resources, with websites and telephone numbers, that the filer will see as they are completing the form. Any agency listed on the OOP system will assist.
